Read a book at few years back called "Empty Planet" by Darrell Bricker and John Ibbitson. It talked about lower birthrates worldwide and suggested that one day, countries would be fighting for immigrants, trying to entice them. I think about that every time I hear of anti-immigration sentiment and policies in Quebec and elsewhere.
In a way, it has already started as the Quebec government keeps trying to lure immigrant workers here (especially in health care) in spite of other contradictory policies.

Interesting!

Poor Quebec. So far from God. So close to the United States.
